To answer my own question regarding the Wembley roof.
It appears that the stadium roof is only fully closed when it is empty - due to safety concerns.
Even then, it takes a total of 56minutes and 30 seconds to fully close. When first planned the public were told the roof would close in only 15 minutes.

The question is - why would you waste millions and millions of pounds on a roof that can only partially close? What would be the purpose?

Seems like another FA bungle to me. One amongst many.

Who's fault is it I ask that we have so many foreign players here , the clubs? the FA?. The home players have a so called representative in Mr. Taylor , as far as i'm concerned hes a total nonentity. Where have we heard his coments since this national debate has been going on.! When we do here from him his comments are bland , weak and aimed at no one.

I've never had faith in UEFA or FIFA, not since Stanley Rous.

We're in a global business here. I can't see Pratini or Blather changing anything.

The first time quotas or similar are flagged, Inter, A.C., Juve, Barca, Real, Bayern, Moanchester, Chelski, The Arse, they'll all get the lawyers out on restraint of trade..... Let alone Sky etc who have far too much money tied up in it all........

Their track record with Bosman's etc ought to give them a clue but they are just so arrogant.......................

As Jack Taylor the 1974 World Cup Final referee said FIFA stands for Free Intercourse For All.Incidentally he was the last Englishman to appear in a World Cup Final.

I didn't know that. I thought the last ones were just a few weeks ago in France.

I totally agree with you fell (even though I do watch football on a regular basis) It IS in your face ,and the hype can make otherwise intelligent and friendly people ,act like marauding pack animals who will turn on anybody who doesn't support THEIR TEAM or agree with THEIR VIEW and feel it is THEIR RIGHT to "Vent their spleen " and pour scorn and ridicule upon a man who tried to do a good job but unfortunately failed

It's here because we were getting a lot of football comments in other threads and it's easier to just herd them all into this one place
