Sadly we have no choice. Anfield is land-locked and a new stadium would require compulsary purchase of peoples homes, leading to bad feeling in the same community it serves. PR disaster.

Valencia seem to have set the ball rolling on Gehry-look stadia and we appear to be following suit. Looks more like a prop from the TV series "V".

... this is The Nest, Norwich City's first ground. It was dug out of an old chalk mine. It was destroyed in the 40s. In the 80s, several of those houses you can see at the back collapsed due to the underground tunnels of the mine. The site is currently a car park but is about to undergo re-development (again). You can still see the old terracing. Each step is about 18" vertically and horizontally. They used to get around 60,000 people in there. Health and Safety would have loved it ... not!

No, the new owners didn't like the original plans so ripped em up and started again. They will probably have to seek planning permission one again.

My mate The Ginger Gooner hates 'New Highbury' ... for the first time ever he is seriously considering not renewing his season ticket, purely because he does not like the atmosphere.
