Think I'm the only regular non-leaguer round here (who admits it anyway!). Alas I must inform you that in the Blue Square Premier (Conference) we have suffered with squad numbers for some years too!

Top at Christmas!

Hi Mark,

We get the occasional live Blue Square game shown over here on Setanta Sports.
It's great to watch those sides battling it out at grassroots level.
The technique may not be always there but the games are usually very entertaining.

Looks a difficult draw for Arsenal and Liverpool, both Milan's and both second legs away.

Yes i thought that only getting a draw at Prague would scupper us and sure enough it did.If we had topped the group we would have got Fernhabache, bit of a difference.Still given what happened against PSV last year maybe it is no bad thing particularly as AC have a poor home record this season.

should be no problems for Chelski or United.I would rate our chances at best 50/50.However if you rest players then you have to accept the consequences.

Agree, they're both through. Lyon might have been tricky had the first leg been at OT.

Avram shoots from the hip ....

LOOK AT YOURSELF CROUCH - GRANT
Avram Grant is not impressed by recent comments by Peter Crouch. Crouch claims that foreign stars are destroying the "honesty and integrity" of the English game by diving. But his comments cut little ice with Chelsea's Israeli coach who said Crouch should take a close look at his own conduct. "He needs to look at himself and see what is wrong and look forward. Not to find any other excuse. The only thing I can think about is that he (Crouch) spoke about the players who play in his team. He knows the foreigners in his team very closely. I don't think he knows much about other foreigners."

To be honest I do not think there are any "easy" games left in the Champions League. On the right day any one of the remaining teams can win.
I've watched Fernhabache playing on television and they just might be the dark horses of the tournament.

Barcelona are favourites to progress but Celtic at home is no easy prospect.

AC Milan are not currently setting the Italian league alight and I fancy Arsenal to deliver payback time.

Come March, if the four English teams are still in form and without injury problems, then I think they can all proceed to the next round.

The Crouch comments have stirred up some other people too ....

MIKEL'S AGENTS ISSUE WARNING
Chelsea midfielder Mikel John Obi's representatives have claimed Peter Crouch's suggestion that foreigners are prone to diving is "potentially racist.
Crouch said on Thursday: "What I'm thinking is if you go in on Frank Lampard or John Terry would they roll around like Obi Mikel did? I don't think they would have done. Would someone like Carra [Jamie Carragher] have gone down like that? I think it's safe to say that he wouldn't. Foreign players have brought a lot to our game but that's something you don't want to see. I didn't catch him but he's gone down like he's been shot."
Those comments have provoked an angry response from SEM who have called on the authorities to deal with the matter as a racist issue.
"SEM feel the comments were potentially racist to all foreign players, not just black or African ones. We are intending to speak to Trevor Phillips at the Equality and Human Rights Commission on Monday. We also hope football's governing bodies, who are meant to be committed to stamping out racism issues, will also get involved."
Mikel has also denied he is a play actor saying "I have nothing to say to Crouch. All I know is that I am not a diver."

I wonder if Crouch has made his views known to one of the most incorrigible divers the English game has seen: Mr Harry Kewell?

The FA statement on the Crouch comments is confusing to say the least ....

An FA spokesman said:
"He is unlikely to face any sort of disciplinary action because of them. We believe we cannot bring Crouch to book for expressing an opinion - and it was not a personal attack on Mikel."

But Crouch said on Thursday:
"What I'm thinking is if you go in on Frank Lampard or John Terry, would they roll around like Obi Mikel did? I don't think they would have done. I didn't catch him but he's gone down like he's been shot."

(source - online sports news)

The FA have been disciplining people for years for expressing opinions about referees et al ... and how can it not be a 'personal attack' when he has named Mikel and accused him of 'simulation' as the FA calls it.

I bet if it was Jose Mourinho who made similar comments they'd have come down on him like a ton of bricks!

From what I saw it looked bad but Crouch hardly made contact.
