Dubai International Capital - the investment arm of the Dubai Government - is to launch a £500m bid to buy Liverpool Football Club.

BBC Sport understands the offer is in the process of being made to American co-owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks.

DIC was originally thought to be ready to make an offer for Hicks' 50% share, despite his insistence that he is unwilling to discuss a sale.

But DIC is now poised to make an offer for the complete buy-out of the pair.

Kevin Keegan got a big welcome today at St James Park. I wish him well.

Allowing Hicks and Gillett to buy into Liverpool now seems in hindsight to have been a bad mistake.
The two obviously haven't got the funds everyone thought they had. They were in the process of re-financing with banks to the tune of 350 million quid.

It may be the best for everyone, especially Rafa, if the DIC consortium decide to buy out Liverpool.
A bid is expected as early as next week.

If the Americans succeed in refinancing the debt Liverpool could ,according to this mornings papers ,be saddled with interest repayments of up to £30 million pa.This will have an adverse effect on their ability to make signings and maybe even to build the new stadium.Again the papers are suggesting a Leeds scenario could happen here.Worrying times for you Liverpool fans.

But that would not preclude them from making more poor signings. I like Rafa, but his weakness clearly is, he keeps trying to hit the cocoanut shy but he keeps missing. He has a poor eye.

Arsene clearly has the best aim, and I hate The Arsenal but love Wenger, without doubt the best and most intelligent Manager in The Premier, by a country mile.

Talk about foot-in-mouth disease.

Hicks has been quoted in the US media as saying that he hoped that monies gained at Liverpool will help him finance his US franchises.

I'm sure that Liverpool fans will be greatly underwhelmed by this news.
The future for Liverpool under Hicks and Gillett does not look very promising.

I know that we're nowhere near April Fools Day yet but the silly season seems to have begun.

UK tabloids reporting that new Toon boss Kevin Keegan wants to sign David Beckham.

Watching The Snow Goose with Jenny was streets better than tonight - honest.

I expect the weekend match to be a tad tougher

Apart from being beaten by Spurs by 5-1 there also appears to be signs of a little in-team turmoil at Arsenal.

Near the end of last nights game Adebayor appeared to head butt team mate Nicklas Bendtner after a verbal argument.
Bendtner was later seen with a gash on his nose.

Wenger may have his work cut out to settle the squad again before their next game.

Do you mean you were watching The Snow Goose starring Jenny Agutter,or you watching The Snow Goose with Jenny (with Mrs Fell's approval,of course).
