I have a theory...when Kev was reappointed, all his ex-players said that his coming into a room made them feel ten feet tall. Now Wise is there, they will feel more like 11.....if you hear that Jimmy Krankie's been appointed team physio at Newcastle, you know what's going on....

Bit of a Bay Window, what??

Default I don't believe it!

Might get a bit crowded in there after last night's nightmare.
Ask Orph if he wants to buy some shares in the fan "buy-out"!

Interestingly the BBC web site says

Quote:
As well as UK-based fans, a website will be launched to attract interest from Liverpool's supporter base around the world, particularly in East Asia.
At a suggested price of £5,000 per member share and without appearing provincal or nationalistic it appears the actual fans who go to games could well be priced out. Not only having to find nearly £1000 for a season ticket as well as cup and European games(hopefully)
but also for a share.

Rumours abound that King Kev's time is up!

'Shearer, Shearer' is the cry. It's official, after big Al tries and fails they have the following shortlist:-
1) Ant & dec
2) Jimmy Nail
3) Kevin Whateley
4) Alan Price
5) Sting

.....You couldn't hear it, if they were shooting at me with howitzers!

Along with bats great Bob and Terry suggestion , I'd like to add Jack Charlton to the list.He has all the qualifications needed, He's managed them before and walked away when it got tough ,he's a Geordie,He's related to Jackie milburn the newcastle legend,He's been out of football for a while ,and he's only 72

I May be getting older ,but I refuse to grow up

The same age as the American Republican Candidate John McCain will be when he becomes the next President of the United States of America. The Rasmussen poll suggests that he would beat both Obama and Clinton.

It is a long way off yet,Freddy.

The Tyne Tees derby resulted in one each for the Boro and Toon. Even though the Boro are my local Premiership team,I was hoping a win for Toon for Keegan's sake.

The Toon wuz robbed.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with Owen's first goal. Schwartzer clearly dropped the ball without being fouled.

At least Keegan's team has now scored a Premiership goal this year.

Actually, as Schwartzer dropped the ball, Owen palmed it towards the net before kicking it; it's not too obvious from every angle though. The odds on Keegan being the next Premier manager to go dropped from 40/1 to 4/1 by Saturday; I dread to think what the odds are now. But as yousay, at least the Toon scored; it's just as well they only let one in for a change. Still, a week off from games for a spell on the training ground.

Bit of a Bay Window, what??

Default The Busby Babes

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the tragic 1958 Munich Air Disaster which took the lives of 23 people including eight players from the legendary Manchester United team of that time.
Always remembered as the Busby Babes.

Victims and Survivors of The 1958 Munich Air Disaster

What is so sad about that disaster is that all those talented players were taken away at such a young age.
One such player was the immortal Duncan Edwards.
He died aged 21 yet many experts still rate him as one of the greatest players to ever lace on football boots. What could he have offered Manchester United and England if his playing career had been allowed to progress?

I remember, as a young lad, reading about the Busby Babes and asking my father if he had ever seen Duncan Edwards play?
His eyes instantly lit up. He told me that he had seen Duncan play a couple of times and that he had never seen a finer player. Dad just added "He had everything. He was truly great".

I believe that MUTV will be free to air in the UK today so that all football lovers can view the memorial service being held to honor the victims.

The legend lives on.

Dave.
