Barton appears to have some kind of 'problem' and IMHO does indeed need help. Perhaps while he is inside he may get that help. I saw that he hand changed his plea to guilty after steadfastly denying the allegation since he was first charged, so maybe that self-introspection has begun.

If you click on there's Most Hated Players.

A good excuse for more Chelsea bashing.

More sense is written on this Brit film forum about football than is written on a lot of football sites.

I cannot really understand the current Chelski / Lampard fiasco.

Lampard wants a new five year contract with Chelski.
Abramovich is said to be only prepared to offer a four year contract.
Lampard is not happy. Inter Milan show interest.

Scolari makes a public statement that he has talked to Lampard and the player wants to stay with the club and hopes to play out his career there.

Lamps is apparently angry at this statement and wants to leave the club.

I really cannot understand what is the big deal over whether it is a four year or five year contract. If Lampard is still playing well in four years time I'm sure he'll be offered another sizable contract.
Players break contracts all the time, so I really cannot see why the one year difference would make Lamps want to desert Chelsea.
Lamps cannot be short of a bob or two either, so if his heart is with Chelsea I cannot see the problem.

Dave.

Too much money in the game dave .
We have so many sensitive players in the game ,who bristle with indignation at the first sign of what they see as a lack of love or respect (or a bigger pay cheque on offer )
I'm not the first to mention that these are players who are already Multi Millionaires,so what is their motivation ?
In the cases of Lampard and Ronaldo ,I would have thought if they had any pride in their craft and their clubs ,that they would be chomping at the bit waiting to get back into action (I know Ronaldo has had an op so he's been delayed ) Lamps to try and win the premier and champs league ,and Ronaldo to try and defend them.

Then you have the likes of Septic Bladder saying Ronaldo should be allowed to go because "He" feels players are treated like slaves

Stick to your own job Bladder , Whatever that might be ?

I May be getting older ,but I refuse to grow up

That's what's happening with Lampard .... if Chelsea offer him more than Inter he'll stay, hence the 'I'd like to play here for years' ... but only if the money is right I guess. I think they should sell him.

My sentiments exactly Bats .
Even though Blatter is out of order poking his nose in , I would sell ronaldo for anything over £40 million. He might be special but if he doesn't want to play at OT There are plenty of world class players who do

Very norty. It's difficult to equate people raking in £100k+ pw with slavery; there's millions that would be quite happy to swap places with him. I don't see what's so outrageous about expecting an employee to honour an average contract of 4 years.

Garry Barry is a prime example, he's gone on record as saying he wants out of Villa but he wont hand in a transfer request because he'd lose a lot of money in loyalty bonuses. Hopefully he'll stay in the Midlands.
