I definitely would not have the irritating Felicity Kendall on my list! The only "honour" she merits is the Golden Raspberry for Worst Actress ...Sorry to any fans, but I find her excruciatingly painful. I forced myself to sit through an episode of Rosemary and Thyme recently and it was so dreadful I would have to say that it really suited her.
Please don't say anything bad about Felicity Kendall ,I don't think I could stand it.

I think for sad people who go through life ticking off their list of personal achievements, honours are something they crave above all else. Unfortunately like so many entertainment industry awards that are dished out now almost like free keyrings at a corporate hospitality suite, honours have become pretty meaningless. It was better a few years ago when if you became a knight they'd give you half of Dorset to build a castle on and let you run off to far off lands to plunder riches beyond compare to decorate it with!

These days being a Sir may guarantee you a table at Langan's Brasserie or membership of a pretentious golf club near Virginia Water, but that's about it!

Personally I'd make celebrities buy the awards like Chris Evans was rumoured to have done a few years ago at the comedy awards. They could be sold to the highest bidder at an online auction (ER-Bay). The money could be used for charitable causes like education, police, basic kit for soldiers at war and NHS medical equipment!

Its easy to judge her entirely on her TV work but she's a fine stage actress and that's why she has already been made a CBE! [

That was more than "a few" years ago - unless you're even older than you seem
But even then, they didn't give land to a mere knight.

They're not meant to be a reward or prize, they're a recognition of what you've done.

What did Sir Mark Thatcher or Sir Anthony Blunt get recognised for?
Or was the damning evidence against them just Sir Cumstantial?

How WW2 veteran and actor Richard Todd has not received a Knighthood by now is rather disgraceful Especially when you see how freely they are handed out these days

Yes, there does seem to be an amount of inequality. Another era, but I'm still smarting at the fact Isambard Kingdom Brunel was never knighted!

Kelly v Isambard. Hmmmm.

All these honours are total rubbish - outdated nonsense. Anyone can get one as long as they have been around long enough. They mean nothing. They are nothing. Mostly they are awards for being old - like so called "Lifetime Acheivement Awards" - whereas recognition for outstanding work goes largely unnoticed at the time. The amount of awards ceremonies in general have increased to such an extent that they are a joke. Everyone knows they are all fixed and linked to internal politics.

Yes, infuriating rubbish.

I feel better now. Thank you.

If he was in I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, or Hell's Kitchen, or had his photograph in Hello magazine with a spaced out coked up expression on his face getting out of a taxi with some wannabee celeb slapper with her plastic tits hanging out of her dress, he might be in with a chance! Failing that he could read for a part in Eastenders or Coro!

So you didn't get one this year either then?
