That's what I thought, but apparently these particular stats - temperature averages, day and night, for the whole country, only go back as far as 1914...thereby missing out the legendary (not mythical) long hot Edwardian Summers before the First World War.......so the hottest month for at least ninety years...

I'm a well known drought breaker in my area.
I only have to mow the lawn or wash the car and you can guarantee that it will rain within 24 hours. ;)

Reminds me of the commentator who a few years ago said that London was experiencing its worst traffic jam for a hundred years.:eek:

Yes Freddy, but a century ago traffic jams were a lot of "pony and trap".:rolleyes:
