It could be Eileen Peel from The Queen's Guards (died 1981 in Canada)
Or Emeric Pressburger (died 1988, buried in Suffolk)

When you ask a question like this, it helps if you give some clues that let people answer it. Otherwise it's a bit like me saying "I'm thinking of a number, what is it?"

He played the title role of this film and is still alive, unless he died very recently. He was alive in 2005, put it that way.

Eric Pavitt. I knew you would know Carl Boehm doesn't live in the UK and might have thought The Boy Who Turned Yellow was the only other possibility.

Sorry. You made it so interesting & exciting I fell asleep
Actually I went out & did some shopping, then some cooking, then watched a bit of telly.

Interesting to hear he's still alive, or that he was last year.
My Friend the King is on the "Missing, Believed Lost" list. There are no known copies. I've never seen it & I don't think I've even seen any stills from it.

Eric would be over 80 by now but it could be interesting if we could contact him and see what memories he has of film-making in the era of the Quota Quickies. Even more so if he remembers anything of that film.

He didn't make many films (AFAIK) only about 6 and he was only about 10 or 12 when he made most of them so he might not remember that far back.

I bet if he had a copy of the film, you would be wide awake Steve. He did not leave the film industry. He was an assistant director on Brighton Rock and a few other films around the time.

His filmography on the IMDb could do with an update then.
That has 3 separate people named Eric Pavitt:
Eric Pavitt (I) was a child star in 6 films from 1931-36
Eric Pavitt (II) was a location manager or location supervisor on various films & TV shows from 1978-83 including episodes of The Benny Hill Show and Rumpole of the Baily.
Eric Pavitt (III) was an assistant director (or 2nd AD or 3rd AD) on various films from 1945-55

All the same person?

Steve

Yes Steve, I just did an update. I merged two, I just have to merge Eric Pavitt (II).
