Default The Police to reform.

Strong rumours doing the rounds that Sting and the boys will be reforming their group THE POLICE this year.
This is the 30th year since the release of the Police hit 'Roxanne' and the lads are talking of working together to celebrate the anniversary.
With mounds of boring and uninspiration music being played at present it may be a breathe of fresh air to see the POLICE back recording and performing.
They certainly were a top band in their time.

Dave.

I would second that. One of the great bands, with one of the very best drummers Stewart Copeland. What a nice change it will be from the boy band girl band rubbish we have endured for too long.

Default Steady on

I would agree that it would be a spectacular reunion....as a younger fan i never got to see them the first time round......

But I don't agree with the idea that there is just boring music around at the moment.....i think that's a lazy statement.

For example in this month alone we have three of our own artists releasing albums which are promising to be seminal:

Jamie T
Bloc Party
and The view......

Take a second to check them out if you get a chance

I always thought it was daft to disband them in the first place given the escalating levels of serious crime in the country today!

I was just waiting for someone to come in with the punchline.
No one has taken the 'Police to Reform' bait yet.

Stiller,

I was chiefly refering to the shite that mostly inundates the charts and commercial radio playlists.
I know there is some good music around. I was talking generally.
Sting himself recently said that he found most of today's music boring and uninspirational.

When he did this latest project with a Lute, some wag said "Sting's only doing it because he likes the loot"

Maybe lute music is the equivilant to a Barry White record if you practice tantric sex.:

there was a documentary on the Police some years ago and one of the questions was why did they split up and it actually appears they did'nt.
The thing is they just got sick and tired of each other and they were constantly arguing and so on so they just stopped making music together and as you know the rest Sting disapeared up his own a**e, Stewart Copeland went into doing film and tv music and Andy Summers went back into session work.
so it's not really reforming as such.
but then again they tried reforming once before and it did'nt work they only managed to do a remix of don't stand so close to me and went their merry ways again after a few back bites and arguing.
