Yesterday I was stopped yet again in my Crapmobile.

The officer first took my keys and then explained I had been stopped for outstanding fines. All well and good if I had.

However, He then introduced me to a Baliff from a company called Marstons.

This being the same company that had clamped my van some six months earlier for an outstanding court fine of a person four owners back on the van.

Having been caught cutting the clamp off ,I had to pay £129.75 for its replacement and then it turned out the clamp was not even for me.

They re- done this again some three months ago and it was sorted out very quickly and told the records should have been updated.Yesterday showed it had not and once a simple DVLA check was done by the police, I was on my way.

But the point is that there were nine Police officers and two Baliffs and the stops were just for the Baliffs and outstanding parking and court fines.

Who pays for the Police time.

Ever part of this Goverment is after Money.

Strange that you don't seem to blame the company for repeatedly harassing you but are all too happy to try to blame the government.

Why not contact the company concerned?

serves you right for being easily traceable by the vehicles logbook ! why not simply out fox the police by not registering the car in your name ? no seriously for a minute im not advocating breaking the law but half the reason youve got such enthusiasm by the authorities for pursuing speeding fines etc is because theyll easily find you via the car no plate

Shove the keys down the front of your pants and tell the officer to get them himself, better still ask for a cute WPC.

I agree with Fell, complain to the companies concerned, but do it through a solicitor, then see them get their records updated fast.

Points taken and the keys would be a good idea if the WPC's didnt look like a bulldog chewing a wasp. The company concerned were notified but nothing done, plus my solicitor charges £30 just to send a letter. And the vehicle is in a company name only, the police even checked the names on the insurance to assist the baliffs.

I blame the Goverment because they allow the Baliffs to rip people off.

If you are fined by a court ,the fine remains the same ,however if you forget to pay the con charge it increases to £10 on the second day then £60 if paid within 14 days £180 after that and can end up to £1195 which I have had demands from Baliffs for.

We as a nation are being taken to the cleaners daily and the BULLDOG has lost its teeth.

I always keep Car/Van keys on a Chain attached to Trouser Belt-loop (and my Wallet.......I know, sad!)

Maybe that's something to think about doing in case there's a next time Rarefilmfinder, would anyone try to take your keys then?.......they certainly wouldn't start fumbling around my Waist-line if they know what's good for them!

why dont you register whatever vehicle ie your own personal car in your wifes name or another close relative or just someone trustworthy ? if your collecting these fines through your work in a works vehicle then i suppose the swat team will still be waiting for you occasionally in that vehicle [ serves you right for trying to earn a living ] but at least in other vehicles you wont be harrassed as much
