It's a fabulous place - right on the cliffs as you can see. You do need reasonable weather for a performance though!

It's not too far from me and located just above Porthcurno Beach, near Penzance. It's not the place to be in winter (unless you're a duck or waterproof) but it truly is an amazing sight to see.

Tried to get there last summer but felt a bit dizzy on the stairs going up, so never reached the top.

Although the theatre looks like something out of Roman times it was only constructed in the 1930's.
A lady named Rowena Cade planned, built and financed the theatre.
It is a wonderful legacy to her name.

The reason I brought it up was, I was reading a book about it at the UA library this past Friday while I was perusing the theatre section. I bet it's just really awesome to sit under a moonlit sky in the summertime with the waves crashing in the background, the actors getting ocean spray all over them...any mermen in the area?
