About time too!........I know you could use 'reasonable force' to defend yourself before but at least this new legislation is more clarific, though I smiled when I read that it wasn't until Jack Straw himself was in 'incidents', before something was done!

Fortunately I've never been in a situation where I've needed to defend myself and hope I never will be, but there's always a first time for everything I guess, a bit unsure about holding someone in a 'headlock' or even how to go about it, can't I just sit on the offender until the Police arrive instead?!!

Excellent news. Both from the point of view of defending your home and going to someone elses' aid. I once did the latter and , I'm afraid to say, was made to feel like a criminal
