Gatz is a word-for-word dramatisation of F Scott Fitzgerald's 1925 novel The Great Gatsby.
One morning in the shabby office of a mysterious small business, an employee finds a copy of the novel in the clutter on his desk. He starts to read it out loud and doesn't stop. At first his coworkers hardly notice. But after a series of strange coincidences, it's no longer clear whether he's reading the book or the book is transforming him.

That is good news. Can't have too much Rattigan and it's great to see Nicholas Farrell get a leading role

Yes, but, apart from the excellent battle sequences it has to be said that Macmillan didn't really make for great drama SHe was good in an otherwise rather dull play about an African election at the Cottesloe a few years ago (and years and years back I saw in a double bill of Black Comedy/The Real Inspoector Hound which I think was David Tennant's first West End outing).

Yes indeed The plans look really promising.

Gilmore said he was particularly keen for the St James to serve as a home for transfers of regional theatre productions.

Yes, but happily we had already got tickets before this announcement. You reckon there'll now be a stampede of people not exactly interested in Greek theatre, Captain?!

I still remember the TV version with Juliet Stevenson from the 1980s. Around the time we were studying the whole Oedipus trilogy, pre-GCSE. I can't really imagine the Theban trilogy being commissioned for prime-time telly these days.
