Rules and Behaviour ?

Right, straight off.



I'm a new member and my 3rd or 4th post was made in response to a long established member, it was made in response to a political snipe he made.



I was not offensive nor derogotary. The replies and responses continued and (obviously as is the nature of such a beast, it got sidetracked). My last post was explaining that the response that I had made originally was not political but

trying to balance a view.



Since then I have been unable to log on or contribute.



I may not have as much to offer as so many others on this fab site - but in terms of where and with whom I knew in the 60's, I may have a little bit of gossip at worst.



Was I suspended ? Are people not allowed to contradict or challenge senior members?



Thats OK as far as I am concerned.If we know.



And new people are always joining - so ....beyond the accepted respect, should they be told they are not allowed to dispute with senior members?



But could we please have some rules posted. I insist I was not flaming, rude or abusive. I only contradicted someone and then found I couldn't log on again.

No idea why you couldn't log on.



Why should established members be accorded more respect than a new member?

To the best of my knowledge, nothing has been done by moderators against you, Alf. If you had committed an infraction, we would have informed you privately. We are quite tolerant, and so long as you weren't abusive or offensive then we wouldn't be too worried. We treat new and old members precisely the same way, although unfamiliarity may lead to misunderstandings, naturally.

I control the membership and your account has not been affected. Even if somebody is moderated they can still log-in.

and some guy who sent us out to "storm"one of the pirate radio stations on the old forts in the Thames Estuary. One 16mm camera per boat. Top stuff.

But Woolworths walkie talkies that had a range of 10 feet and they didn't know we were coming.....talk about a grudge - he is still being hunted Word was that he was second director or asst director for some Tinto Brass film. Some of us had heard of Tinto, radical, revolutionary Italian no-holds=barred guy. Does soft porn now. But actually I quite like him...but, there you go....anyway....

With some browsers you get logged out after 10 minutes of so of inactivity. Unfortunately just typing doesn't count as activity so with a lengthy post it can be a good idea to copy it just in case you get logged out. It can be very annoying...

Make sure you enter your username and password then put a little green tick in the box and it should remember you.



This happened to me after I spent about 15 minutes thinking about and typing my observations on Peeping Tom. Which was all gone when I hit the back button. I typed it out again but with lots of grammatical errors and spelling mistakes and knowing I had forgotten some of my original points as I was so irritated at having to type the post again.



As far as behavior, just follow my example. They love me on here
