Imagine my anticipation: A BBC expose of the cult of the non-celebrity celebrity this Monday BBC1. Pointless Celebrities. The deflation, just another quiz show. Was the copy-writer having a laugh with us when he/she sent the header to the printers?

So Pointless is back, in a new format. That's completely fantastic news

I am so pleased to see that Pointless is returning. I notice that it is now on BBC1 in the former timeslot of Weakest Link, which is now on at 4.30 pm on BBC1. Presumably this is testing the waters for Pointless to replace Weakest Link when Weakest Link finally bites the dust. Personally I could do without celebrities on Pointless, maybe the BBC believes that the BBC1 viewer needs celebrities to sugar the pill and introduce them to a new programme idea.

Don't worry - you'll still be doing without celebrities They had a celebs edition once before and I really hadn't heard of a single one of them (quite genuinely) and there was no attempt to explain who they were. So you can just pretend they're real people

Ah, Radio Times has never been the same since they stopped using newsprint and stopped advertising garden sheds for sale . . .
