I've just finished reading Raymond Fitzwalter's rather depressing account of what went on behind the scenes at ITV during the late 80's-90's, It's a thoroughly good read if you can stomach it. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Hi,
Although I doubt that I shall get around to reading it, thankyou for that information.
But I can remember, when it first came out, wherever it could be received, most people, (not all) -preferred it to BBC. Many people who only had one channel sets, had them converted. But they usually had problems. Watching ITV became one of the in pastimes of the era. Where as people like me had my friends coming round to my set, I started to go around to see theirs. It helped to change the face of British television.
