First published in 2002, this is actor Bob Balaban's personal diary and experiences of working on Close Encounters of the Third Kind, (he played "Laughlin", "Lacombe's" (Truffaut's) translator). It's a wonderfully entertaining and insightful account of the making of the film from his point of view and just what it is like on a Hollywood block- buster of the time. As CE3K is one of my favourite films I've always wanted to read a behind the scened making -of story and this is it.
Highly recommended to any fans of the film who want to know more or anyone interested in how those 70's blockbusters were made with all the trials and tribulations that came with it.![]()
