Default Britfilm book, David Farrar

Hello all,

As a big fan of David Farrar, I'm wondering how to et hold of his autobiography, 'No Royal Road'. I've had Abebooks set on any price (even though I can't pay it!), just so i'll see that there are copies out there. I'm not puting this on the VHS/DVD's wanted part of the site, this being a book. I would very much like to read of his experiences on 'Black Narcissus', 'Small Back Room' and of the lead up to these greats..

It is a very good biography although it does sing the praises of its author quite unashamedly. And as it was written in 1947 it only takes us up to just past Black Narcissus so there's no mention of his Hollywood work with John Wayne etc. nor his later British films like Lost (1956) and the wonderful Beat Girl (1960). And there's no mention of The Small Back Room or Gone to Earth that he also did for Powell & Pressburger.

Copies do turn up on ABE occasionally, that's where I got my copy.
