Default British Film History

As a lover of all British films particularly those made between 1930 - 1960, can anyone recommend any websites or books which cover locations, film production companies, studios.
The best books I have obtained so far are British Film Studios by Patick Warren and An Autobiography of British Cinema by Brian McFarlane. I would be really grateful for any other recommendations

Robin Cross's 'Big Book Of British Film' is very good. Quite comprehensive coverage of Brit films from 1939-1970. I'm into 40's and 50's personally and this has been a good starting point. Lots of stills (over 300 it says). It's out of print but if you search 'Robin Cross' on Amazon.co.uk there is a used copy going for £11. Got mine recently in a 2nd hand bookshop in Stroud for £10, and I'm glad I found it. I need recommendations of other such books myself.
All the best, A

BRITISH SOUND FILMS: The Studio Years 1928-1959, by David Quinlan, published by Batsford 1984 covers every British film made during this period with credits and brief synopsis and critic's opinions.

I can recommend "Ealing Studios" by Charles Barr. Out of print in this country somewhat bizarrely but available from the states - I used Amazon.com

Also, if you're into Powell & Pressburger there's a great book on "A Canterbury Tale" by Paul Tritton. This is also out of print but the author is trying to drum up interest in a second print run. Have a look at the good tribute site run by Steve Crook (also a regular contributor on here) - http://www.powell-pressburger.org/ - this gives details on the book plus a wealth of PnP stuff.
