Default Ealing Studios

I've seen some of the beautiful Ealing productions. I know that there was a book on the market by Charles Barr. Does anybody know if there is other material of interest and especially CDs with music from that period?

There's George Perry's very good Forever Ealing and a book of Ealing posters called Projecting Britain.

I have a CD with film scores from a number of Ealing films like The Captive Heart, Titfield Thunderbolt etc. At work at present but will post later with more information.

Can I ask what CD this is with the soundtracks, Rob? It sounds like it would be very much up my alley, so to speak. Any info would be gratefully received. Cheers.

Of course, Sergeant! I never did post the details, which are:

CD name: The Ladykillers: Music from those glorious Ealing films. Issued by Silva Screen Records Ltd in 1997, ref number FilmCD 177. I just looked on the Amazon site and its there at £11.99 but with a long delivery, however if you're really quick there's a used one on offer as I type at the bargain price of £3.75! (Absolutely no connection, etc ) Hope this helps!

By the way, Sergeant, the inspiration for your name comes from one of my favourite films of all time! Just sublime, especially the poem about the smugglers boats, and the blackcurrant joke!!!
