Basically the bits that have been taken out are the bits most liable to cause offence to his family but also any references to various ludicrous and utterly fabricated claims made in various showbiz autobiographies and biographies (Frank Muir's A Kentish Lad springs immediately to mind): such references had originally been included in order to discredit them.

I'd like to think that what I can prove as fact remains. It is and always was intended as a tribute to a vastly underrated British actor who I've always admired greatly.
