I recently read the above biography "Charmed Lives" by Michael Korda, nephew of the celebrated film director Sir Alexander Korda......

Have any other members read this book, and did you enjoy it..?

I have seen "The Third Man", but as yet no other of Mr Korda's films.

Please suggest one or two others (that are available) that you have enjoyed, as I will be re-reading the biography in the near future............

    Many thanks

Ah, it's only Region 1 like all Criterion stuff. You can download VLC media player if you don't mind watching on your computer or I bet if you gave your dvd-player make in the techie thread, someone would tell you how to hack it. Or you can get a new multiregion player for about £20 on Amazon and then a whole new world is opened up to you...

I read the book years ago but can't really remember anything about it. There's a more [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Korda-Definitive-Biography-Charles-Drazin/dp/0283063505/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1246370972&sr=1-1"]recent biography[/ame] which i've also read but have no wiped from my memory banks

I bought the book on Korda many years ago and i ahve to say it is an excellant read.He had a life that most people can only dream about.Louis B.Mayer famously said about him that his idea of making an omlette would be to first steal 2 eggs.Korda managed to get millions out of the Pru which they never got back.
