Come on, has he really lost 8 million listeners in 2 months?
Did anyone listen to Terry Wogan's new show today?, if so what did you think of it?.

I thought the format was pretty poor...He doesn't need the Radio Theatre...just his news mates and a small studio with a few letters.
Film Man.
I agree. He persists in trying to do the live audience thing, whether on TV or in this instance, and it simply isn't what he's best at.
I suppose that we must give it time to settle in, however given the fact that Terry Wogan has been broadcasting since the early sixties, I thought that he would hit the ground running. For me, the whole idea is wrong. Wogan was always at his best on the old Breakfast show, it had a nice one to one feeling that the new show lacks. I note from the Radio Times that the new show was number 1 of a series of 12, perhaps Sir Terry or the BBC know that something is not right with the new show?.
I only heard part of the interview he did with Ian McKellen and he was EMOTING rather LOUDLY to the AUDIENCE (Wogan that is,not Sir Ian), but he did get a laugh quoting one of the Gervais/Merchant lines written for McKellen from Extras, which I think they were both surprised about!

As much as I like Sir Tel,I do agree with you.

No-one does intimacy as well as Wogan. But there's nothing intimate about sitting in front of a large audience.

I've been actively avoiding it like the plague. I detest Wogan with a passion.
Michael Ball is back on the 16th May - hooray.
I dipped in and out during the show on Sunday, but every time i got the blaring 'music' of that Elio Pace band. I can't cope with that sort of racket on a Sunday. Pity, because the old boy has a way with words, a connection with the TOGS & TYGS. He should concentrate on that & cut the rest. OOPs: that would be the Wogan show from which he just retired...
Well, as the instigator of this post and as someone who listened to Terry Wogan from the age of about 12 to 47. I hate to say it but this latest show proves that he was correct when he chose to bow out in December 2009. I can't even listen to the new show anymore, sorry!!!!!!!
I cannot stand him anymore, he is on an ego trip and adores his own voice. Too obnoxious.

You can "watch" the show on Freeview 301. His interview with National Treasure Bernard
Cribbins was a delight.

Never seen of heard the prog before but liked it - Wogan wasn't trying to hard to be funny like I felt he did on his morning show
