My one achievement in life is that it was me who first suggested to BBC7 that they dig this out of the archive. And jolly good it is too.
I am looking forward to hearing the following radio musical:
Three Men in a Boat

Quite lively and a rare non-series performance from Kenneth Horne

The book is one of the few that has made me laugh out loud.
Obviously it's only a poor substitute for this version from 1944 though (which Aunty seemed to think nobody would ever want to hear again)

Thought I'd mention that this is on Radio 4 Extra again this week *swells with pride*
BBC - BBC Radio 4 Extra Programmes - Jerome K Jerome - Three Men in a Boat
Well done, sir; I listened to it on both occasions.
Of course the mentions of Scouts are anachronistic; the book was written in 1889 and the Scouts didn't come into being until 1907. But apart from that it is great fun; and good, four-part singing too.
