I know what you mean Paul. Until recently I looked forwards to reading it, now a quick glance to see if any good films are on, then it gets stuck in the rack for my husband to see what's on in the week.

None of the other listings mags give the detail RT still does, even if there has been a reduction on the five main channels.

The articles have dumbed down steadily over the years. Who'd have thought there'd be soap pages in the RT! And yes, way too much Dr Who! Always on the cover when it is on, and even sometimes when it isn't - because the fan boys will buy it for their collections.

But it is still the only half-way intelligent listings magazine. The film pages are good. I like Alison Graham's TV crit.

I'd hate to see it sink further.

The only alternative is the Guardian's Saturday guide mag - but it is so wretchedly small!
The Daily Mail TV listings mag 'weekend' is quite a big one, but as many people would rather put their hands into a pail of cow dung than touch the DM maybe we wont go down that road.

I receive it via subscription also, but the day I see the likes of Kerry Catona and all those other 'slebs' I really don't want to know about filling it's pages is the day I cancel!
