Many career TV or Radio profiles do play to the easy and established stereotypes of :

Rock star = Living to excess / shallow
Film Star = Insecure / vain
Comedian = The jester with a tear in his eye

In the case of Keith Moon, wildly entertaining and talented that he ovbiously was, don't forget that Pete Townshend called hime "an ungrateful c**t.
