Default Jazz f.m.

Anyone heard the revamped Jazz F.M. channel, cant say I am impressed, heard it this morning, some very safe choices, Stan Getz and Astrud Gilbeto Girl From Impeaname and some sweet soul claaiscs. The Jazz channel which folded a few months ago was much better.

Was The Jazz Channel the one on Sky channel 0113?

I used to listen regularly to this and was impressed. Didn't realise they had revamped it.

I should verify that the channel called The Jazz hit trouble in the summer of this year, got shot of all its presenters and carried on for a while with an automated serviceThe current Jazz F.M. channel is a rebrand of the old Jazz F.M.

As you righlty say The Jazz channel was very good, but the curent incarnation of Jazz F.M. is tryiing to cater to a mass audience.

Much better to listen to jazz on internet stations such as Radio Jazz International and many other fine stations.

I've never known a radio station to rebrand as often as this! Simply Red, Sade, their playlists were eclestic to say the least. The worst thing they did was shuffle out the Dinner Jazz section around 8.30pm during weeknights. Will listen out for this incarnartion before it gets rebranded into the ether for good!

Boy lands plum role for top Italian director!

I'm not a strictly Jazz-head so the playlist, with a retro pop/jazz/soul spin suits me fine. I prefer a bit of Aretha, Brand New Heavies, Dusty, Sinatra, Buble, etc...
