Default Allan Beswick - Red Rose Radio. 'The Late Night Show'

Anyone remember or recall this brilliant show from the 1980s? PLEASE PLEASE respond.
'shock jock' is the wrong expression...he was such a wonderful phone-in host, sincere and honest. If anyone wishes to share recording of this show please let me know.
David

Yes I was a regular listener and I have a few recordings somewhere. Beswick's cool logic and objectivity were masterful in the wake of a deluge of drunken halfwits trying to foist their prejudices onto the airwaves.

Happy memories, The caller dump button that triggered those 'pricebusters' ads, he was definitely one of the best and still sounds good on bbc manchester.

Yeah - and what about those legendary foot-tapping jingles :
"If you're a handyman go to Deepdale -
Deepdale Handyman Store!"

I grew up listening to Beswick in the mid 80`s as a teenager, I loved the late night phone in and over the years I have learned more useful stuff from Beswick than I probably did in all my school years. I once got 98% in a verbal reasoning test for a job which I attribute to Beswick, the interviewer actually said `put it this way I wouldn`t like to have an argument with you!`.There are some recordings on `you tube` from the classic `Red Rose` years.I still listen to him on Radio Manchester as he does the Breakfast show now.

beswick very good at bullying callers- not so good with slick politicians , gets very wordy and slightly in awe of famous people , and some of his personal views are silly and obnoxious, but i agree he can be reasonably entertaining
