Cliff Hall of The Spinners folk group died recently, I read an obituary in The Stage.
The Spinners alway sevoke memroies for me of Christmas Day on BBC 1, their annual concert usually followed the festive edition of Parkinson.
Ok, they were never one my favourite folk groups but they were extremly popular and remind us of gentler times.

Quite prolific on record I seem to recall ,recording many L.P.s for FFontana and EMI.
I remember The Spinners on the box, can anyone post Cliff's picture as I don't recall which one he was ?

A really friendly bunch of guys - they came to York University and York theatre royal a few years ago now. On both occasions they spent ages sitting and chatting to fans after the show.
