Default Happy Bat!

I am a very happy Bat today .... .... the last two films I needed to complete my own personal "Maxwell Reed Collection" have been obtained. The Lost People arrived yesterday courtesy of a fellow forum member, while Captain Phantom is on his way from the USA.

To celebrate .....

Happy Bat.

He was in Clouded Yellow wasn't he? Aside from that and the Joan Collins connection, I don't know much about him or his work. Anyway, congrats.

Nearly 10 years .... I got my first vhs off the TV in about '98 (Daybreak) followed by several vhs releases and other off air recordings. When I got my first dvd player in 2002 I started again from scratch and via a multitude of sources (including this site over the past year or so) have finally got the lot! That's 22 films and a couple of tv episodes (Captain David Grief).

I would like track down more 'David Grief' episodes and some of his other US tv appearances (he guested in Perry Mason. Bonanza etc) and his appearance in the Peter Cushing 'Holmes' series, which was his last performance.

Bats.

Very nice portraits of Maxwell Reed, I love those 50s hollywood style head shots, all done on a large plate camera so that the eyes, teeth, forehead and chin are in focus and everything else drops into soft focus, none of your digital pin sharp in focus from 2inches to infinity malarky! There was a british photographer of this genre called Cornell Lucas who I beleive is still alive and this looks like one of his pics though Im guessing they were taken in the USA as there is a Universal studio mark on the pics. Anyway I digress slightly, congratulations on adding to your Maxwell Reed collection Bats!

Default Maxwell Reed

Hi Batman
Just found this site and signed up. I collect boxing films, shorts and TV shows. I have been searching for THERE IS ANOTHER SUN-AKA WALL OF DEATH-1951- MAXWELL REED
For at least six years now. I had saw a post that says you have all his movies. Please can we work out something for this film. I am also looking for Capitain David Grief episode In This Corner #33 2/22 also. (10 years now) Please help this is my first post. I will be posting looking for rare british boxing films that I have been looking for over ten years now. This is what I hope to accomplish.

Please sir, understand how important this is to me. I've been searching film, shorts and TV shows for over ten years. I collect boxing movies for a historical archive on boxing in film and televison. I hope to have web site soon about boxing in film. I am hoping that film restoration people will come to my site and library for help. I had not found one lead on film until today. So please reply to me and help me out. Can you imagine ten years.
