Default Peter Cushing Watercolours Auction Catalogue

Sadly, I'm no expert on art, but I do like the look of his work.
It seems to reflect the gentle nature and intelligence of the man, and to the untutored eye, it seems he was an artist of some quality.
My personal favourites are lots 197, 200 and 206.
What do you think?
Do we have an art connoisseur on the Forum to give us an informed view?

That's really interesting, jackdaw, thanks for this.

I'm not an expert, but I can recognise quality when I see it, and Cushing's work was clearly very skilled. I wasn't aware of this side to him - what an extremely talented man he was.

Just wish I could get to Canterbury next week (and that I had the £££s!)

I prefer his pen-and-ink drawings to his watercolours, apart from the autumnal country lane, that's very nicely done...obviously talented, but on the whole, I'm glad he stuck to acting....

Bit of a Bay Window, what??

These are great. The man really was talented. I read somewhere that he used to design his own costumes for his films. There was a very detailed ink/paint sketch he did of a costume. In a lot of his horror films he really is immaculately dressed.
