We also had the Paddy Roberts album, but the only track I can recall is the one you mentioned, but it disappeared around the time my mother died. Perhaps she took it with her, she did like it.
Somewhere I have the CD of Flanders & Swann's 'At the drop of a Hat' - very clever comedy.
I am sure that someone on the forum said that there is a Paddy Roberts compilation on cd, I hope so I would liketo have it. I watched Armstrong and Miilers show on BBC4 for the first time the other week they did a wicked parody of Flanders and Swan.

Yes indeed, B - I watched those F&S parodies with great admiration. They'd got the music and the style just right, very clever indeed - and funny.

They are great. Armstrong & Miller obviously know and admire Flanders & Swan. I just wonder how many of their audience gets it

You have a point there Steve it does make one wonder how many of their audience would get it.

An oft played comedy record that may have not been mentioned thus far is,"MY Brother Sylvest," by Johnny Silvo and Dave Moses. A favourite on Ed Stewars Junior Choice in the seventies, it didnt amuse me much at the time. However, I have always thought that Johnny Silvo is a marvelous folk/blues performer I just purchased a superb album of Silvo singing some tried and trusted favourites from the folk/bluses canon backed by Diz Dizley.

If anyone is interested there is a Youtube clip of Johnny Silvo singing,"Brother Sylvest."

Good to know he is still working and resides in Norway.

Eric Sykes and Hattie Jacques recorded an lp in the 60's entitled "Things", which was re released on cd a year or two ago, I bought the cd version, it is quite funny. Not a lot of singing on it, but good to listen to.

Few I would imagine - which makes the care they've put into it even more cherishable. I hope some younger folk might seek out the originals as a result.

Anybody else seen the great Only Flanders and Swann Video?

All men leak.

Yes, yes, I agree with you on all those, I had a few of the Mike Harding concert albums, very funny, some of his serious songs were quite nice not his strongest suit but very touching. Good musician as well, saw him in concert a few times in the eighties.

Loved Tom Lehras Poisoning Pigeons in the park, remember hearing Frankie Howard and June Whitfields recording of J.TAIME on Radi Luxemborg man yeara ago,

Does anyone recall the You Dont Have To Be Jewish records, there is one sketch of played on the Radio in the seventies where a Woman is on the phone to someone in her family her husband I think but after a long conversation it turns out that she rung the wrong number, could this be Mike Nichols and Elaine May.

I have to admit to owning two dodgy comedy albums one with Jim Davidson and one a specailly recorded for records version of That;s Life complete with Esther vox pop innerviews with saucy pensioner Annie Mizen. The latter album was the only L.P I have owned that I wanted to wilfully damage.
