Default Oliver Reed website revamp

Hi folks,

As you may or may not know, I run an Oliver Reed tribute website oliverreed.net and its just had a complete revamp - same content but new format, nice graphics and menus etc.

I was wondering if any Ollie fans would like to take a look at the new format and perhaps feedback any comments/criticisms/bugs they might have? (In particular, I'd be interested in anyone not using Internet Explorer/Firefox).

Thanks for any comments.

Hello SirOllyBolly.

Have seen this before and it is a great web site, loved the Encounters especially the one with Mark Anthony Robbins..
I use Opera, your site downloads nice and fast the one problem with the browser is that the drop down menus go to the left. for ex. the website menu drops under galleries, galleries under career, career under Oliver and Oliver drops to the far left of my screen.

Opera can be unforgiving though, I know this myself.

best wishes

Freddy

Hi Freddy,

Many, many thanks for the feedback. Yes, Mr. Robbins does spin a good yarn, doesn't he?

Curses! That offset that you are encountering was put there to compensate the differences between the Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers - I had no idea how Opera woukd react to that.

This whole internet compatibilitiy issue is an ongoing nightmare - looks like I'll have to tweak the code.

Thanks again for your reply.

Nice site Olly. Personally I'd add a stronger/higher res portrait image, thumbnail the gallery, and considering adding a bit of gold to break up the black/white - but that's just being picky.

Had a look in Firefox, Opera and Safari. Same menu problem in Safari that Freddy mentioned for Opera.

All the best

Not picky - just the stuff I needed to hear!

Nice site. Simple, easy to use and elegant.

I notice you're using a frameset to "front" the virtual URL. It does make it impossible to bookmark any page but the homepage

Unless you right click and get Frame -> Info

The menu problems for Safari and Opera users should now be sorted

Thanks for all the comments and feedback - all invaluable stuff for improving the website.

Many thanks.
