Default Film/TV Technical query

What is the green colour that is reflected from spectacle wearers in many films and TV programmes ? And why is it becoming increasingly common.

It is particularly noticable when the glasses are props with flat lenses.

It does seem to be a relatively modern thing.

Cheers

Ah Yes, the Soviet Union. All them wheatfields and ballet in the evenings

This could be because most spectacles you buy these days have anti-reflectice mineral coatings. I just looked at the reflections of a light bulb in mine and it comes out green.
