Default the British film with the most memorabilia?

i have started to hunt the web for Christmas gifts for my friends. they are also massive British film fans. i was looking for British film memorabilia and was shocked to find out there are very few memorabilia on past British films available to buy...

they were a lots of posters, very few autographs, few photos and books. i used google to do the search but everytime i searched deeper, i kept falling on memorabilia for the carry on movies; don't get me wrong, i like the carry on movies but i mean do we only want to keep reminders or flashbacks items for the carry on movies????????? i even found poker chips memorabilia with the carry on series
http://www.collectablesmania.com/....../carryoncamping

even great movies like these ones, there aren't many memorabilias available to buy;
Henry V
The Wicker Man
Withnail and I

And i though it will be very easy to find items

my corner of paradise ....

Try Ebay, it is jam packed with British film memorabilia. Tread careful, as much is crap reproduction.

Do an eBay search for the film's title, if it's name commonly used elsewhere include the name of a star or two like
"Wicker Man"
"Henry V" Olivier
"Withnail and I"

Then just look in the section for Entertainment Memorabilia, or just search in there to begin with.

There's nothing currently offered for Henry V & just one photo from Withnail
But there are various posters, stills & even a Summerisle T-shirt from The Wicker Man

As Rennie says, tread carefully. Caveat Emptor!

At the risk of inflating market prices - you'll find old movie magazines and books can be had for mere fivers. Old Picturegoers, PictureShows, Photoplays and so on. The secret is to make loads of bids and be content with the odd ones you actually 'win'.

If you were able to pick up actual memorabilia from actual movies for pennies I would feel very sad for the Britmovie past. Movie posters are particularly valuable. I wonder how many old cinema's got demolished with stacks of them in a basement room.......

If all the old movie posters had been saved ... then the ones that survive wouldn't be so valuable

There is a great shop here in Northern Ireland that sells loads of memorabilia from films including props etc they all come with a certificate, i bought my daughter lots of Harry potter things there Autographs, wand,a paper from the film so there are lots of things from all kinds of films old and new but the only thing is you could spend a fortune in there.

My best mate & I are addicted to 'The Great Escape'. Our wives tell us we're sad cos we recite the lines as we watch..............

Anyway, at Christmas we always try to buy the other something to do with film but boy it's hard! Done the poster. Tee-shirt. First Day covers, signed photos...
.......now if anyone knows where that motorbike is........................

.....You couldn't hear it, if they were shooting at me with howitzers!
