I have been waiting for this to come down in price and Amazon US have it at about 40 pounds for one day only.

It is currently selling for around 90 pounds on Amazon UK.

Great series once they switched to horror from mystery.

Thanks so much for the tip off Phil!.

I have just ordered it.A great deal indeed.I already have the series, the pirate copies which have been doing the rounds everywhere for years. But I'm such a fan of the show I simply have to get the real thing to see all the extras.

My favourite episode is A Wig For Miss Davore and it will be fascinating to hear the memories of guest star Patricia Barry.

Shame William Shatner is not involved as he did two good shows.Perhaps they couldn't afford the fees.

    Thanks for the tip, Phil.

I was also keeping an eye on this but had missed this excellent offer. Just ordered it, as I doubt this price will be beaten for quite a while (also it is not available as region 2).

    Midnight sheep,

Shatner does appear and as the series is billed "complete", both his episodes should be included.

In Amazon.com's item description you can play short preview clips and "The Grim Reaper" with William Shatner is available to preview - a nicely mounted sequence.

I am currently watching this series, never having had seen any but I've heard of its excellent reputation for years. The horror editions are certainly far better than most of the crime/mystery ones.

    Hi Edward,

Yes I know the two Shatner episodes are included.I ment it's a pity he is not involved in the commentaries.

Can wait to get this set and watch them all again from the begining.

I'm going to start Upstaris Downstairs again too.The big Network boxset with all those extras. It will lead me nicely to the new series of the show featuring, as we all know, Jean Marsh returning as Rose.

    Steve.

    Midnight sheep,

Apologies - I sometimes morph into Homer Simpson!

Now that you've clarified it, I agree entirely with your suggestion that they could probably not afford "Dollar Bill" (AKA - William Shantner) for a commentary !!

Most of the commentaries seem to be with fans or television historians rather than survivors from the series itself. One of the survivors providing a commentary is actor Richard Anderson, who glows about meeting Boris Karloff for his episode, which is strange because Karloff appears to have filmed his introduction at a separate time and his appearance "with" Anderson is courtesy of back projection.
