Looks legit and they claim not to be drop-shipping despite the site looking cheap.

    Very dodgy website.

There is a claim that they are a "VAT registered company" but fail to disclose the company or the VAT registration as required by law.

According to Nominet, the business appears to be a sole trader called Philip Cooper. His full address is

    15 Oxenden Drive
    Hoddesdon
    EN11 8QF
    United Kingdom

but it isn't disclosed on the website. At least it is disclosed on Nominet. I note the eBay shop claims the business is called "classic movie store uk ltd". There is no such company. Claiming to be a limited company that does not exist is also illegal.

The address is a nice looking house on a cul de sac. The house is located less than 5 miles away from the Sony DADC that burnt down this week. Quite a few Network titles on the site.

His po box is on the contact page and the dodgier sites tend to hide behind an anonymous domain. He's probably shifting goods bought from a bigger outfit.

    Hi there guys,

My name is Phil Cooper and I am the owner of Classic Movie Store as you have kindly pointed out.

I have come across this forum whilst keeping an eye out on the net and hope I can answer some of your points.

James M if you look under the about us section you will find our VAT number clearly displayed, it has been there all the time. By law this is on all of our invoices.

We nowhere claim to be a limited liability company, that is just an ebay user name as classicmoviestore was taken already.

And yes we are a few miles from the old SONY DADC warehouse you are correct (burnt down in the London riots), and yes we sell lots of Network titles (distributed from SONY DADC) as we have a great working relationship with them over the last 4 years, which is why we can offer great prices on Network titles.

If anybody has any serious points or concerns feel free to call us any time on 0208 123 1333 or email us.

If you quote to us Brit Movie we can offer anyone who reads this a 5% discount.

Wishing you all a great New Year.
