Goodness me, that's pretty cheap for the entire series. Thing is though, I already have the complete series box set, packed with special features, which also features the pilot 'Regan' and the two spin-off movies. Does this set offer anything special?

If you've already got the series, no. If you haven't, it's a bargain.

There aren't a huge amount of extras in the earlier release, and the commentaries aren't that great, so you won't be missing out on all that much, but it was wonderful to be able to see some of the bonuses such as Thaw and Waterman's appearance on "Morcombe and Wise." In fact, I think the complete 4-season box set of "The Sweeney" is one of the finest DVD releases of the last 10 years, with the show not just holding up well but actually playing even better now than it did at the time.

Damn right! There's nothing better after a hard day at work than to come home, tell the bird to shut it while I pour myself a large Scotch and settle down on the sofa and watch the Sweeney!!!

Time to keep your appointment with the Wicker Man...

If you click on the link, then you'll see that it is. I bought the series not so long ago for about £70. At this price, what are you waiting for....

I think it's 19 discs so a bargain. I doubt it's any cheaper on Ebay.

I expect it will appear as 'public domain' version for £4.99 at some point.

Don't miss out on a chance to win a rare film in Bat-Quiz 13 closing date - 31/8/8.
