My Whiplash set arrived yesterday via the Royal Mail postman. I'm now waiting for the other two sets, Man of the World and Mystery and Imagination, to arrive, which hopefully should be today or tomorrow (they were despatched yesterday according to Network). It would be simpler for all of us if these "Mail Order Only" titles were sold in our local HMV and we could go there and buy them.

I received my Man of the World and Mystery and Imagination sets from Network this morning and very elaborate they are, too. The Mystery and Imagination set contains a beautifully produced forty page glossy booklet all about the series that contains some stills that probably haven't been seen for years. I am very happy with my new account with Network and, to paraphrase Fu Manchu, Network will hear from me again.

Nobody ends like they started out.

Has anyone else bought the Mystery and Imagination set and found the booklet inside has been squashed and, therefore, effectively caused the pages to be perforated together?! I'm sure most copies will be the same, so not sure if it's worth the bother of returning it.

I think you're one of the lucky ones DBF, a lot of other people are reporting similar problems caused by the disc holders.

Well, although the booklet is okay, I did notice that the disc holders are of that very annoying type that make it very difficult indeed to extract the the discs by pushing on the centre spindle. In fact, it took me a good ten minutes to extract each disc and once they are clicked in, they are well and truly clicked in. Normally, if this was a DVD case with only one DVD, I would simply put the DVD in a replacement case with a better centre and you can buy ordinary one disc DVD cases in HMV or WHSmith. However, I've never seen DVD cases on sale in the shops that can hold four or five DVD's in one case. Conversely, the cases for the Man of the World and Whiplash sets are much better and the discs can be extracted and clicked in with no trouble at all.

Nobody ends like they started out.

Agreed but you can get them on the Internet quite easily. I use APR Media but there are dozens of similar firms around. You can get cases which hold up to 10 discs and multi disc cases are very handy when storage becomes a problem.

Thanks for the postings about the booklet. I've e-mailed Network/Sony about getting a replacement - I'll post back with what they say. I think the packaging is borderline stingy for the set at half price, so I'd be ever so cheesed if I'd paid full price for it. Four discs and a booklet in one slimline case - it's reminiscent of a commuter train for over crowding!

I'm impressed with Network! I e-mailed them on Tuesday afternoon and received a replacement 'Mystery & Imagination' booklet yesterday. Credit where credit is due, I think that's great customer service.
