Definitive? Or just the first 16 they could get the rights to?



What about:

The Cruel Sea (1953)

Mandy (1952)

Frieda (1947)

The Ghost of St. Michael's (1941)

The Foreman Went to France (1942)

The Blue Lamp (1950)

Pool of London (1951)

etc., etc.



But it's hard to know which of the 16 I'd drop to include any of those. That's the trouble when a studio put out so many classics. I suppose they could do one boxed set of Ealing Comedies and another of their non-Comedies.

I was temporarily excited until I realized I had most of them already. And one or two that I don't have I plan to buy as part of Optimum's Alec Guinness Collection.



Btw, there's a comparable reduction on the complete ITV Sherlock Holmes at the moment (on several sites, eg play.com, amazon.co.uk). Going for £39.99, the entire series with Jeremy Brett.

Were Nicholas Nickelby and Champagne Charlie replaced by The Cruel Sea and Halfway House it would be a stronger package.
