Can somebody explain why the "complete" OFAH set of DVDs always refers to these SEVEN series??
If you look at the episode page of the IMDB you will see that there were NINE series. Are series 8 and 9 not included for some reason?
I think this is an older set, released when there were seven series. Since then there have been more episodes made and therefore a newer box set with Leopard skin packaging was released which is the complete series and specials. Picked that up instore at Asda for £37 last year.
You'll have to ask the people who make, and promote the DVD set. They are the only ones who would know.
But series 8 & 9 were both just 3 episodes each rather then the usual full series. They were more like a burst of specials. They were also all broadcast around Christmas time so they are really a burst of Christmas specials and as such the people who make the DVD probably don't regard them as being a part of the main series.
Do they include the other Christmas specials?
Steve
no you dont get any xmas specials on that box set
a shame because i enjoyed 1985s to hull and back
i can live without the later ones however
there is another bigger box set that does include them but you rarely see it at cheap prices
Thanks, everybody. I'll have to look around.
As I was the one to ask the question a few days ago I think I ought to clear this up. I contacted the BBC shop (Tel: 0844 848 9799 in the UK) and bought the complete 26 DVD set which includes ALL the Christmas Specials and ALL the episodes (all also Christmas Specials) which comprise series 8 and 9 at IMDB.
I've checked that they are all there with one exception. Episode 2.8 (Christmas Trees) which was only 7 minutes long is not there. This clearly came from some other compilation and, strictly speaking, shouldn't have been included as an episode at IMDB, IMHO.
The version of A Royal Flush is the shortened version on that set IIRC, which is a bit of a pain seeing as the full version was used for the recent magazine partwork. It's also available on the R1 release.
