Can you advise me - Should I buy the more expensive 2005 DVD box set or the more recent 2008 set? I know the 2008 set is cheaper - but does it contain the cleaned up prints sold to the BBC ?



There's a negative review on Play that suggests the 2008 release is a copy from video tape - While Wikipedia says the 2005 set contains the BBC prints.



Can someone confirm this for me before I spash out. Many Thanks :-)

According to customer reviews on Amazon the 2008 set has the re-mastered prints.

Not quite as bargainous as the original post but this set can be had for £19:97 from Amazon at the moment.

That is a stunning price for this set. Excellent series. I now have Sky HD and have seen some of Sherlock Holmes in HD on ITV3. It looks amazing. Can see a blu ray purchase on the horizon if they get released in this format.
