An unexpected family emergency has arisen not sure when I will be back
Starting Monday I am off on another business trip associated with the company. Before I leave, Happy 107th birthday, Mr. Thatcher.
"The Spy in Black"? DVD? A retail version, that is, something that doesn't look like it's been recorded off someone's television? I'm not at all happy with the version from VCI Entertainment that I got from Movies Unlimited -- e-mail me if you have a good version!
Also, what's your copy of "Saloon Bar" look like?
AARRRGGHHH! I detest snow! That is, I detest it when it's been coming down pretty much every day since Sunday and I live in a metro area (Seattle) that does not have the infrastructure to clear the roads fast enough. To say nothing of keeping power going -- we lost ours for an hour last night (very lucky), but there are places (even in the city) that have gone without for a full day or longer.
Because I am a transplant from the American Midwest (Illinois), I get rather annoyed when an entire region shuts down during inclement weather for more than a day or so. And I think that anyone who is over the age of 30 who has been through a winter or two out here and says, "Gosh, the snow is GREAT!" ought to be shot to ensure stability of I.Q. in the gene pool, for the reasons I mentioned in the above paragraph. Because every year it's "Wait for it..." -- and it ALWAYS happens during severe weather, be it excessive rain, snow, or wind.
Speaking of which, the snow is supposed to stop tonight and temps are supposed to rise tomorrow, with rain in the forecast. Flooding!
I'm back and ready to go to bed. I don't have a life with my new job. j/k
In response to Steve's question, VHS, Embassy Home Entertainment (hope I can view it this weekend finally!)
In response to Monica's question, a kind forum member sent me a copy of "Saloon Bar" although you can purchase the movie through Nostalgia Family Video. I've bought other movies from them before and have been pleased with the service.
In other news, one of my favorite Torin VHS tapes finally broke and it probably received more play than anything else - a homemade tape with 3 movies on it: Jack the Giant Killer, The Sandpiper, and I See a Dark Stranger. But I have a DVD of the second movie and will get one of the last one soon. Plus I still have the original Jack the Giant Killer video I purchased a week after I saw the movie in 2007 on TCM.
I am seriously considering taking him as a tax deduction this year.![]()
