According to family folklore our family had a movie make-up artist in the family ,John O'Gorman.

I have seen his name in the credits in some elderly films which I do not now remember having seen them in my schooldays.

I would be grateful for any further information on John O'Gorman by any members.

    Thank you

Just a few of his credits from films I have: Around the World in Eighty Days (1956), Corruption (1967), Curse of the Fly (1965), On the Beach (1959), Casino Royale (1967), Dr. No (1962) and She (1965). Given the last three mentioned and he's singled out as her personal make-up man on Casino Royale, I suspect she was a favourite of Ursula Andress. Nice job if you can get it!

Check the full list of credits on the IMDb

He's also credited as "special makeup artist: Miss Bardot" on Boulevard du rhum (1971). The ladies certainly seem to have liked him

Ingrid Bergman stipulated that John O'Gorman must be her make-up artist when she worked on The Yellow Rolls Royce. He worked as make-up artist on all of the films she made in the UK.

Do you know if he could still be with us. If he passed away in the UK and his date of birth on the IMDb is correct, he must have passed away between 1979 and 1984.

I knew John O'Gorman. He died of a serious illness in around 1977/1978. Please get in touch if you'd like some more information.

Yes, this is John O'Gorman. He was a family friend and attended my 21st birthday gathering shortly before he became ill and died.

Hello and welcome, casey. I have often seen your dad's name on film credits and was hoping to post a picture of him from Wayne Kinsey's latest book on Hammer Films (from She) but it was too indistinct. David M.'s pictures are far better! Many of us on here remember your dad and his work, which seems to have been appreciated by many stunning ladies of the screen.

Casey; I'll be able to post some pictures later this year. They're in family photograph albums which I intend scanning in July or August. I don't have them in my possession at the moment. Tessa was a professional associate of my late father and it was through this that we became friends with John. We lost touch with Tessa in about 1981.

Martin01, I'm a US film student doing research for a biography on Cary Grant and would love to ask you about Mr. O'Gorman!
