I had no idea Dennis was ill, I watched 'Speed' a couple of nights ago and was impressed with his performance as i was with True Romance and Blue Velvet.
I hope his final days are peaceful ones.......
Me too. I have always thought he gets an unfair Press.
I've watched him since ''Rebel Without A Cause''
Aitch,..
How do you make your footer a live link Harry?

Cheers Harry got your pm, but it doesn't seem to like me.

Very sad.
Certainly very sad if true (bearing in mind it's the Sexpress....). DH was clearly not an easy person to live with at the best of times - but he's certainly contributed plenty to Film's Rich Tapestry....
AFP News doesn't say he's on his deathbed. It merely mentions that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year.
Wouldn't be the first time that an actor has been written off prematurely. Our own Chris Lee suffered that fate in the 90s![]()
I'm a big fan. "Blue Velvet," "Easy Rider," "The American Friend," "Apocalypse Now," etc. etc. (His "The Last Movie" is also a favorite film misfire)
Hope he pulls through.
I also think he's excellent in Blue Velvet too.............
The part of "Frank" was tailor made for him.....

Yes I hope the 'Easy Rider' doesn't suffer.
I saw that on another site earlier in the week, but the source was the National Enquirer. Elizabeth Taylor according to them is near death, but they announced that months ago.
His (estranged) wife is gorgeous. I'd let her have the house and estate just to be buried in her underwear drawer.
Seriously, it's a shame that what could be his last acts are acrimonious and litigious. Pretty unseemly, really.
How do we know dennis is on his last legs ? Seems to me like we might be putting the corpse before the hearse.
If he is on his deathbed or in a chair nearby, the actual filing is easilly contested under Californian law. He will be sedated, drugged (legally) and any competent lawyer will be able to contest such a change as being the result of medication and not of a sane mind.
It's sad. His illness and it's sad for his family.
At one time he was the great hope for an alternative, un-glossed, genuine actor. Instead the corporates took over and gave us Ford, Hanks, Cruise and their ilk, with minmal scripts that were geared to minimal acting.
But he went with the money and cameo-ed his ability away.
And that is sad as well.
I read that his prostate cancer was originally diagnosed in 2002 and that it is now in his bones.
The chances are that it has spread to the brain - which means that, even for Dennis Hopper, he's probably behaving somewhat less than rationally.

This could also explain his support for Bush in the last election LOL
Seriously though, hope he pulls through. The guy's a legend!
