If you want to put one of your signposts at the most northerly point on mainland Britain, don't put it in John o' Groats. Even the locals don't claim it's the most northerly point.name='lovegod' timestamp='1284589269' post='474580']
Â* There should be two Â*sign posts erected.... one at John O Groats with a sign saying Â*... Lands End Â*603 miles... and a similar post and sign at Lands end. These should be erected at the furthest point North Â*and South. Â*Some rich sponcer like... Richard Branson could pay for two very elaborate and stylish posts to be named the Branson Posts.. and people could take up the Â*.".. John O Groats to Lands End Â*Branson Challenge..."
That honour belongs to Dunnet Head
But there's already a signpost at John o' Groats saying "Lands End 874 miles"
and one at Land's End pointing to John o' Groats
Lots of people have already cycled, walked and even run between the two signs. Ian Botham did a sponsored walk from one to the other.
But apart from all of that it's a good idea![]()
