Thanks, it's a nice site. I recently noticed there's a book out detailing a young actor/writer's friendship with him in his final years.
Trottie True is such a "flamboyant" film that I'm not surprised the director was gay!![]()
Now a commemorative website dedicate to the director:
Brian Desmond Hurst

When I flicked through the book I couldn't see a mention, but do tell us if you can find Jean!
There was a Brian Desmond Hurst documentary broadcast on RTE radio last weekend. Online link below:
RT.ie Radio 1: Documentary on One - An Irishman Chained to the Truth
Jean Kent is heard at about 23:10, Ray - I was present when she told this wonderful anecdote![]()
Thanks for that link DB7Shame we never actually got to hear any of Brian's scandalous stories as they would have livened up that fairly dull documentary, still of interest to me as I really knew nothing about him and he directed some terrific films (Scrooge, Malta Story etc).
Anyone notice that at one point they seemed to be watching His and Hers (1961) a Terry-Thomas film many of us are seeking, so at least there is a copy out there somewhere.
