Cheers Sarge, I melt every time I visit these posts.

You are right, it is the Serpentine, Francoise is opposite the Lido, which is the swimming area therefore no boats.

The cigarette advert could be Silk Cut ??

    Regards

    Freddy

Thank you very much Freddy....I knew somebody was reading these posts.....
I wonder if that Lido building is still there?....Thanks for clearing that up I thought it probably was the same place...
    Prepare for mega-meltdown Freddy......
Here's an interview clip from 1966...

    Cheers
    Sgt S

PS....I'm not sure Silk Cut cigs were around in the mid-sixties Freddie....I seem to remember them coming in later in the 70's....

You and many others I reckon Freddy.....Quite understandable as she is not only naturally beautiful but quite a shy & modest person....
She may not have the most perfect teeth in the world, but that doesn't detract from her beauty at all.....
Will be posting more clips from her Piccadilly show soon...
    Cheers

To return to the Serpentine Lido for a moment, it is known as Lansbury's Lido. George Lansbury was First Commissioner of Works under Ramsey MacDonald's Labour government of the 1920s/30s and commissioned the building of the Lido. George Lansbury was also a supporter of women's suffrage as well as being the grandfather of Angela Lansbury. The Serpentine is also going to be used for the open water event in the 2012 Olympics.

Thanks Paul......I don't know why I keep calling you Freddy....
That bill poster that was clowning around in the last clip, also turns up at the end of this one....
Here's Francoise as a mannequin singing "Non, ce n'est pas un reve" (No this is not a dream).....I could imagine the late great Dusty singing this one....
Probably filmed somewhere in the West End.......

    Cheers

I used to sign off Freddy as it was my middle name, my christian name is Paul which I am going to use from now on. I'll still keep my original post name.

I noticed the bill poster as well, I wonder if there is a sequence to these films?

    In the meantime

Nice one Paul....Yes I've seen that clip before....both beautiful ladies...
It would be interesting to try and work out the order of those clips from The Piccadilly Show. That last clip (shop window) obviously precedes the one at The Serpentine because all his posters are still intact....
    All the best

Time for another clip, this time the shortest song on the LP comes in at just 103 seconds...."En t'attendant" This is either an early morning or late afternoon film shoot as the sun is very low in the sky.....
You can clearly make out the word "CLEARWAYS" that might be a road sign, maybe that's in the West End also....
She's wearing those tight white trousers in this clip which do also appear in another clip....so once there all uploaded we might be able to put them in some sort of order...

Francoise is wearing the same clothes in this next clip (white trousers & leather type jacket)....this one must have been filmed next as the sun appears higher.....
"Ce Petit Coeur" (A little heart)....

Looks like a mews to me Sarge, once again of the era and highly enjoyable. No dancing, gyrating semi clad girls and boys clutching their crutch. I'd hate to think what the x factor would have done to Francoise.

I think the semi naked gyrating only seems to happen when she sings with Jane Birkin....

Another clip from the Piccadilly Show, this time with Francoise behind bars.....
Here she sings in English her 4th UK single Et Meme (However Much)...Note also the little girl in that last clip also appears as the small child being carried in this clip.....making me think they were filmed back to back.....

Not sure if this is really a forum for Britmovies (she only made one British movie, Grand Prix being American? But she is great in it). Anyway, Sgt Sunshine, does France Gall know you're cheating on her? I have a fondness for French chanteuses myself (BB, Jeanne Moreau in Jules et Jim, Claudine Longet ... aaah, her version of God Only Knows, magnifique!). I can't find a decent priced compilation CD for Francoise, can you help? I have quite a few photos of Ms Hardy, a whole set being promo shoots of her trip to London 1965 (walking around Hyde Park etc). Below is a fantastic picture of her, which proves why the 60s were so great.

Great photo agutterfan........The 60's were indeed the best.....
There's a great bargain on Amazon at the moment with a 50 track (2 CD) Compilation CD of her called "The Vogue Years" covers the period 62-67....for the staggering price £3.49....
Be aware ALL the tracks are in French (none of her English versions are included).....I would buy it myself but I'm a self confessed Vinyl junkie & have so far managed to save up & buy her first 4 LP's & 5 singles....
I've also seen Ms Moreau in Jules et Jim.....great film.....nice lady....
I'd love to see any of your pics of Francoise from those 1965 photo shoots (I'm sure others on here would agree)...How did you come by them..?
Here's a pic to keep France G happy and not jealous.......
France with her Francoise wig on.....

    Cheers
    Sgt S

PS....I've got a rather nice new screen-cap of Scarlett in the "Watched last Night" thread (Ghost World)

You lucky people.....found yet another rare clip for you. Prepare for mega-meltdown again....

Francoise sang not only in her native French but also English, German and as seen here in this clip Italian..."Il Saluto Del Mattino"...
    Enjoy....

    Cheers
