Interesting to read that the reason for the termination of DANGER MAN was the absence of network backing, as opposed to Patrick McGoohan's absence of interest in doing more. ". . . another film adventure show with McGoohan . . . " hmmm, "That would be telling".

Subject of my last blog, which was largely prompted by Cap'n Pickard's material..... Thanks again Captain.

I notice that the Doctor Zhivago publicity parade (fur coats featured in Post #25) was accompanied by driving snow and lashing rain in London on the day. Mind you, the parade was probably in November or December of the previous year, whilst our version of the weather-forecast-from-hell in 2012 occurs a week later than when the edition of Kinematograph Weekly was produced those 46 years ago!
My I ask Mr. Pickard if, as in other features on this thread, we are welcome to post here our own archive stuff on the films and publicity days or should we ask the Moderators to conjure up a related link?
Interesting, that "seventies look" to the cinema at Boreham Wood!
What a "remarkable transformation"... oh dear!

The Odeon at Marble Arch was quick to follow the trend

Rick C, I have no objection, but I think it would be up to the moderators. It would be a good idea to have a 'related link' for publicity etc of British and foreign films in British cinemas.
I have taken liberties on this thread, and that a lot of the material here is borderline off-topic, but I took a chance as, in the case of "Dr. Zhivago", the director is english and this is a British premiere. The film was shot in Spain and Finland. All the post production was done at MGM, Culver City in California. (Lean's assistant was a British editor that had worked on "Kwai" and "Lawrence", Norman Savage).
I suspect the casting announcement for The Viking Queen mistakenly states "Patrick Carlton" instead of Patrick Troughton.
